Canteen
The 'Snack Shack' at Asquith Public School is run by the P&C and our wonderful Canteen Manager, Carrie. Our school canteen offers healthy, affordable food options for students.
Opening Hours
The Snack Shack is open on Wednesdays and Fridays at recess and lunch.
Students may purchase snacks and drinks using cash during either of these breaks, or families can order ahead and pay online using Spriggy Schools.
Snacks and drinks are available for recess ordering and families can order these, as well as hot food, for lunch.
Ordering
For canteen ordering, download the Spriggy Schools app.
Orders must be in by 8:30am each day and can be placed up to 3 weeks in advance. If your child is sick or changes their mind after an order is placed, you can go back and edit or cancel the order.
Menu
We pride ourselves on offering a healthy menu, with over 75% of our menu on the Everyday item list. We try to accommodate any dietary requirements and plan to have most nutritional panels available on Spriggy. There are several Vegetarian and Gluten free options and we take allergies seriously. We are always happy to discuss your child's needs via email or pop in after the bell for a chat.
Volunteer
To keep our canteen running we need plenty of volunteers to assist our canteen manager. Parents, carers and other adult family members are all welcome to volunteer. Your kids will love seeing you in the canteen!
Volunteers require the following:
A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC). You can apply for a WWCC here: Working with Children Check Service NSW
Food Safety Training Certificate - this is a free online course which takes about 1.5 hours to complete: I'm Alert Food Safety Training Hornsby Shire Council
